Trauma Informed Yoga For Youth
Trauma lives in the body. When young people have experienced trauma, the body becomes an unsafe place. This affects how they breathe, the ways they relate, and how they move through the world. It changes the pathways in the brain and can lead to unhealthy decisions. Trauma-informed yoga can help them to befriend their bodies again. This program gives tools that directly address the symptoms of trauma. It is specifically created and tailored to meet the needs of the individuals or groups who will be participating. These classes can be held inside or outside of schools.

Professional Development for Teachers
Learn how to incorporate Yoga, breath work, and mindfulness into the classroom: During this session you will learn, as teachers, short yoga techniques that can be used right in the classroom. These 5 simple yoga tools can be done anywhere to refocus, energize, and/or calm your students. The session will include Mudra (hand movements), Pranayama (breath), and basic asanas (poses). At the end you will go home with 5 cards to keep in your back pocket!
Learn how to teach Yoga in your Physical Literacy classes: Introduction to yoga for youth. Explore developmentally appropriate games, music, resources, group work and philosophy. Bring your inner youth as we practice games, group/partner yoga, breathing and meditations together. At the end, take home 2x 30 minute lesson plans that can be used as part of daily physical literacy.
